Match Report

Spring finally arrived and the squad of 12 ASB members assembled between the railway line and duck ponds in West Dulwich. Once Dulwich arrived we got changed and they directed us to the further pitch where we lined up thus:

GK : Juzza
RB : Peewee LB : Frange
CB : Woody & Tina
RM : Iain LM : Slouch
CM : Jordan & Nick
S : Sharkey & Jools

We played some nice passing football so much as the bumpy pitch allowed and we soon scored when Sharkey skilfully lobbed the stranded keeper from 12 yards. The momentum kept up and added another soon afterwards with our best goal of the game when a 4/5 pass movement began in defence and culminated in a bullet header from sharkey at the near post. 2-0 with about 20 minutes gone.

Dulwich felt their best chance was by playing long balls over the top but these were coped with pretty comfortably each time by Juzza and the defence. We almost scored again when a sliced clearance hit the post. Jools was busy throughout and his persistence paid off with a well taken third after half an hour taking advantage of the oppo's indecision.

3-0 at half time.

Nick nick continued to boss the midfield with Sharkey linking up well continually yet ironically our 4th goal came from a route 1 clearance from Juzza that was flicked on by Jools for Sharkey to bag his hat- trick. We squandered a few chances in th 2nd half and Dulwich had their best chance of the game when a full length Juzza tipped away a shot that had actually seen 3 of their players offside and unnoticed by the ref!!

Iain then limped off for young tom to come on and make his debut. Jools also got injured quite soon afterwards which seemed to disjoint us somewhat although we remined determined and resolute enough to weather the storm and Nick then added our 5th with a deflected shot to give us a well fought victory over another improved IFA side in Dulwich.

Sharkey got MOM.

Woody.
